DevOps / Cloud Engineer

We’re an e-commerce company specialising in premium brands and we’re currently embarking on a front-to-back transformation of our technology systems in order to bring our customers the next generation of web and mobile experiences. We're investing heavily in growth and innovation, and not just for the benefit of our external customers; we also want to bring technology improvements to our internal customers—our staff.
Our departments consist of a variety of business roles with the normal diversity of ICT requirements and wishes. Previously, administration of our internal systems was shared among the Operations team. We will now be establishing those responsibilities as an independent role for a Systems Administrator. We are looking for a Sys Admin who wants a high level of autonomy and control and who will own all internal operations.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's ICT systems
- Own the internal network
- Manage vendors for telecommunications, licensing, procurement
- Establish internal best practice policies
- Provide 1st and 2nd line ICT support to staff
- Plan, lead & implement ICT projects
- Provide technical advice and guidance on non-ICT related projects
- Provide assistance to the Cloud Infrastructure team as needed
We have a development team who are building an entirely new stack from the ground up using the latest cutting-edge tech—Kotlin microservices in a service mesh configuration with React on the frontend for web and mobile—and we are deploying that to a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.
This role also includes supporting the Cloud Infrastructure team, as time allows, to assist with:
- Building and evolving the CICD pipeline
- Establishing security policies and infrastructure architecture
- Working closely with the Dev team and the security & compliance officers.
This is an autonomous role for someone who wants to take charge and be a thought leader for best practices around compliance, security and technology utilisation in the company.

We’re embarking on a greenfield reinvention of our e-commerce platform around the next generation of ML/AI and data science-powered technologies driving beautiful web and mobile interfaces. We are disruptors and we’re looking for the Sys Admin who will be our internal face to the rest of our organisation.
